Founded 1910 as Zhili primary Normal School. Renamed Zhili Fourth Normal School 1984. Transformed into Xingtai Teachers College following merger of Xingtai Institute of Education and Xingtai Economic Management Cadre School 1996. Acquired university status and present title 2002.
